Lady Gaga left viewers shell-shocked Sunday when she showed up at the Grammy Awards encased in something that resembled a large oval egg carried on an open wooden platform by a selection of half-naked men.
Famous for her outrageous costumes - this is, after all, the woman who wore a meat dress to the MTV Video Awards - Lady Gaga may have topped herself with the Grammys getup, which was described as looking variously like an egg, a pod and a large pumice stone.
The egg tied in with her new single, "Born this Way," which was to get its live debut on the show. She also managed to speak to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet - through the shell.
