If you're in the mood for a little color, but are afraid to commit to an overall scheme that you may get bored of in a year, try adding splashes of colors in your accessories, artwork, throw pillows, and/or focal point furniture pieces. I designed our Sofia Chair just for this purpose. It's available in any lacquer color you can imagine and has been a loyal piece for me to bring character and architectural interest to an otherwise colorless and boring spaces.

Plush Home Sofia Chair

This is probably the most used accessory in our house - my husband and I each have one and roam from room to room with our wireless Google machines atop them. After all, who says that a laptop tray has to be made of faux wood with one of those strange, fluffy cushions glued on the bottom? I like these guys because they also double as serving and display trays....so when they're not being used to check email, they're ideal for magazines, books, drinks, etc...
Plush Home Lacquer Laptop Tray: High gloss lacquered tray with black borders, black bottom, and white interior.
Dimensions: 1.5"H x 14"W x 20"L

Seven shop drawings and four prototypes later, here is an early look at the first item in Plush Home's Sofia line. I was inspired by the beautiful Moorish grates of Casabancla and wanted to fill a constant need that our interior designer clients seem to have on their projects - a comfortable, but elegant, wood back chair.
I had used a Benjamin Moore paint color named Moroccan Red for the front door of my showroom and loved the way it looked with the creme background on the building. So I opted to use the same color combination with the showroom model of this chair. I used a faux-leather material on the seat because I am constantly being asked for "kid friendly" fabrics that don't look "kid friendly."
