The Carlisle Ottoman for Plush Home was designed specifically for a dual purpose as an ottoman/coffee table...and also works great in pairs for those extra large spaces. The removable tray and wood base is available in a large handful of finishes and the glass bottom shelf comes standard with a 1 inch bevel.
In situations where the back of a sofa faces the entrance to a room, I will often install a console in that space. In addition to offering a more visually appealing welcome than the boring back of your sofa, a strategically positioned console will also: 1. Offer opportunities for accessories 2. Formally divide a room where needed 3. Allow space for additional table lamps

I had a client tell me a story of what would have been my most horrific DESIGNAMARE. When unexpected guests showed up for a particularly crowded Thanksgiving dinner, he was forced to bring out milk crates for extra seating.
He didn't even flinch when he told me the story, but his new bride and I shared a look and knew that this would never happen again. So first order of business was placing ottomans in their entryway. Under a console the ottomans take no extra space and can add an useful splash of color. But more importantly for these clients, they work great in a pinch for extra seating.
