When it comes down to accessorizing, scale and color are major factors in selecting just the right pieces for your space. But it can often be a challenge to find just the right size, color...and price that works for your project and pocket book. Yes, a custom bronze sculpture will always do the trick. But when I'm looking for accessory sculptures, CORAL is one of my favorite go-to sources because within the many different species, there is bound to be a perfect size, shape, and color fit for any project I'm working on. Once I hunt down that piece, I'll dress it up with an acrylic or wood mount and call it a day.

1.  Add a few potted trees or flowers throughout your home. You can find very inexpensive, attractive planters or flower pots at Osh, Home Depot, or better yet...your local nursery. Potted Flowers are great because they last much longer then cut flowers and still provide a splash of color.

2.  Clean your windows. You will be AMAZED at the difference this makes!! AMAZED!!  Here's a couple window cleaning hints:

- Don't clean windows in direct sunlight – the window may dry too fast and streak.
- Exterior windows should be first be washed with a hose or clean water to remove grease and grime.
- Wash windows side to side on the inside and up to down on the outside. If there are streaks, you will know which side they are on.
- Change wash and rinse waters often.
- Vacuum screen to remove dust, etc
- Outside screens can be scrubbed with warm water and rinsed with clean water.  Allow to air dry.
- Squeegees do not work on textured or stained glass windows.
- Choose a "hard" paper towel (soft ones leave lint) or cotton cloths such as old t-shirt or socks.

3. Paint that Ceiling! If your wall color is light, you can paint the ceiling the same color. If your wall color is dark, consider going anywhere from 50-80 percent lighter so that you do no create a cave like feel.

4. Use Dimmers EVERYWHERE. All switches throughout the house should have dimmers, including lamps –there are no exceptions to this rule.

5. Always use frosted light bulbs – never clear! Use low voltage bulbs as much as possible. This will create a softer, more ambient feel in your space.

Lots of fires to put out yesterday, so this Tuesday's tips are falling on a Wednesday (but "Wednesday's Tip" just doesn't have the same ring....so we'll leave the name the same).  Let's talk about designing for bachelors.
When it comes to decorating, bachelors tend to fall into two categories:

The ones who are totally terrified of the entire process or…

The ones who are frighteningly overly interested in it, micromanaging every detail and leaving little or no room for a future girlfriend/fiance or wife’s input.

Here are some tips to all my single men out there who are looking to create an effortlessly chic yet inviting bachelor pad. [Are you reading this "R"?]
1. Select comfortable yet chic upholstery. Use fabrics that are soft and comfortable.
2. Buy beautiful art in appropriate sizes for your space and make it the stand out item in your décor.
3. Err on the side of conservative when it comes to the amount of furniture you have. I recommend collecting very special and timeless pieces instead of crowding a space with a bunch of random, thoughtless junk.
4. De clutter. Keep it clean and simple and if you do collect, make sure your collections are thought out and placed with some sort of care, not thrown on top of something or in a corner.
5. Always have simple, clean linens and fluffy towels for your bedroom and bathroom. I recommend sticking to simple white, it always feels luxurious yet clean.

What's the easiest - and least expensive way - to personalize your look? Painted Fingernails! Nail polish continues to be just as important an accessory as the right shoe or bag, present on almost every single runway. The direction: moody, minimal-chic shades of mushroom, slate gray, and even blue.
