Went to a great cocktail party at Trina Turk’s house last night for the launch of her new fabric line for Schumacher. I’m not the best with photos, but here’s a Blackberry shot of Steven and my sister-in-law Anita.

Trina’s dramatic collection of indoor/outdoor prints, many of which were originally designed for her resort collections, are inspired by the poolside lifestyle of Los Angeles and Palm Springs, and also the variety of cultural influences and landscapes that are found in California. Bold geometric patterns are mixed with prints derived from natural motifs, and also designs discovered in Trina’s extensive collection of vintage apparel. The color palette of this collection is fashion-influenced; bright and breezy shades of turquoise, citron, watermelon and marine are combined with smart neutrals such as sand dune and charcoal, giving these outdoor suitable prints a thoroughly modern appeal.

Los Angeles Magazine recently featured our Twig Table in their table couture section. Available in polished nickel with black or white marble top.

Home Accents Magazine just featured our new Sofia Chair in their Color Wheel feature. I love it in this coral red, but it can be done in lacquered versions of any Benjamin Moore colors.

One of the most frequent questions I get asked is... how to pull together random artwork that you have been collecting throughout the years ?. First, think in terms of collections. Hang pieces that belong together in the same style framing, then choose walls that ave the appropriate space for them.
So don't try to squeeze a massive canvas above your fireplace just because you paid a lot of money for it...or got it for a good deal.
Next, consider proper framing. Even an original Monet housed in a cheap and inappropriate frame is sure to take the experience out of the art. You don't have to go nuts with custom framing (and can certainly hang canvases unframed). Bbut if you are framing, make sure that your selection compliments your art. As a general rule, unless your art calls for something very unique and elaborate, the safe bet is to keep your framing elegant and simple.
For large walls, I like to install one big canvas...or place a grouping of subtly framed smaller pieces. For the high ceilings in our showroom dining area, I chose a collection of B&W floral radiographs in simple mahogany frames. Either way, select something that will clearly tell a story that represents both you and your space.

Pantone, the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, announced Mimosa, a warm, engaging yellow, as the color of the year for 2009. In a time of economic uncertainty and political change, optimism is paramount and no other color expresses hope and reassurance more than yellow...especially for Spring.
"The color yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance," explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "Mimosa also speaks to enlightenment, as it is a hue that sparks imagination and innovation."
Best illustrated by the abundant flowers of the Mimosa tree and the sparkle of the brilliantly hued cocktail, the 2009 color of the year represents the hopeful and radiant characteristics associated with the color yellow. Mimosa is a versatile shade that coordinates with any other color, has appeal for men and women, and translates to both fashion and interiors. Look for women's accessories, home furnishings, active sportswear and men's ties and shirts in this vibrant hue.
Perfect for the kitchen or family room, painting a wall in Mimosa will add warmth and cheerfulness to any room, especially during the winter months. Mimosa also creates the illusion of being connected to the outside, making small rooms feel open and inviting.
