Here's an excerpt from Steven's Blog that I've incorporate into my regular workout. I've always admired the bodies of female sprinters and thought you guys might find this helpful...particularly after the Holidays.

“Family in town”, “Waiting to lose some weight before I go to the gym” “End of the year crunch”, “Too hungover”, “Waiting to start next year”, “Traveling a lot”, “Parties to go to”, “There’s a football game on”… I know.  I KNOW.
I’ve heard all the excuses and have used many of them myself.  The Holidays are arguably the most challenging time to maintain your fitness regime.  But unfortunately our bodies are not sympathetic to our busy lifestyles and schedules.
When I find myself limited on time, my go-to exercises are jump roping (which I’ve talked about in a previous entry) and SPRINTING. Unlike jogging or walking, sprinting (or fast running) will challenge and engage your entire torso and even arms (I’m trying to avoid the “core” word because I’m sure you’re all sick of this buzzword by now).
20-30 minutes of intense sprinting is a fantastic way to maintain your fitness level until your schedule opens back up.  And once you have more time to dedicate to yourself, this routine will be an excellent addition to your regular fitness regime.
If you’re indoors on a treadmill, here is the cycle that I personally use. Obviously you will have to select a speed that you feel matches your health and fitness level.
SPRINTING CYCLE
Stretch
5-10 minute warm-up.  Select a speed that will bring you to a light jog.
1-2 minute(s) of intense sprinting. Select a speed that you would chose to run if a hungry, carnivorous dinosaur were chasing you.  As a gauge, my personal clients who are in good shape will run at speeds from 8.0 – 12.0 for this duration.
1-2 minute(s) of walking.  If you sprinted for a minute, take a minute walk.  If you sprinted for 2 minutes, take a 2 minute walk.
Repeat the sprinting cycle 5x.
5-10 minutes of light to fast job.
Cool down walk.

Thank you to the Production Design and Art Department of NBC/Univeral's HEROES for specifying their fine art from our Plush Home gallery. We've had a fun year of seeing our pieces on the screen (Curb your Enthusiasm, Mastercard, Brothers & Sisters, Got Milk?) and are looking forward to debuting new furniture stars next year.

There is something strangely soothing about the light crackling sound of a record player's needle touching a vinyl record. It immediately gives me a sense of old school familiarity that just can't be duplicated by a computer or ipod. During the holidays, I find that dusting off vintage Prince and Donna Summer LP's is a sure fire way to generate an impromptu dance pary. Add a little scratch, open the back doors and the neighbors are sure to join in the fun.
Maybe it's the specialness of doing something different or maybe it triggers our childhood nostalgia of sitting around a record player in front of a fireplace.  Either way,  the vinyl revival is here and it's a way better alternative to watching my husband and brother play video games after dinner.

When it comes to dinner parties or holiday festivities, I am a huge fan of using table linens. Along with well thought out candles, beautiful china, flat & stem ware, great linens will take a special occasion to the next level by making it feel ultra chic.Personally I like to stick with a simple white table cloth and napkins detailed with a hemstitch border. The white solid look allows me the flexibility to change other details without being concerned about them clashing with the table linens....plus there is just something so clean, crisp and elegant about white.
Gracious Style has an amazing selection and custom capabilities which was very convenient for me since our dining table has unusual dimensions to accommodate larger parties.

I don’t have to tell you (or your husbands) how much a pair of fine European heels run these days. So when I have any issues with the Louboutins, or anything else for that matter…I only trust Sam. In addition to my heels, I can’t count how many times he has brought Steven’s ratty motorcylce boots back to life. Sam’s provincial-style shoe shop on Sweetzer Avenue and Beverly Boulevard is one of Los Angeles’ true gems. His warm smile is to die for, so be nice to him and don’t ask him to rush something for you unless it’s an emergency.

Thanks to Bryan Venegas, Set Designer of Brothers & Sisters, for specifying a handful of our accessories for his set. Bryan has been kind enough to shop here in the past for the show, and I'm really excited about his selection of our Tea Caddy, Moroccan Box and Rosewood Lacquer Tissue Holder. Looking forward to seeing their screen debuts.

I love this show because it reminds me of those awkward family reunions, where everyone starts airing dirty secrets at the dinner table. You can watch full episodes of Brothers & Sisters online HERE.

I actually do feel bad for Ashley (one of our Plush Home interns) for having the thankless job of teaching me how to use my new Blackberry Tour.  We just ordered a handful for our office staff, but they’re all the same color — I don’t need to look up Nostradamus’s chart to read the future on this one…

We've had great response with our recent Renovation Style cover editorial. The Gatsby Chairs in particular (in foreground) have been a big hit this month - they also made their small screen debut this month in Curb Your Enthusiasm.
I wanted to clarify the paint color that I used in the Living Room (which was incorrectly listed as a Benjamin Moore paint). We received a handful of calls from people who had tried the paint listed and noticed it was quite different than the editorial images. Although I actually use quite a bit of Benjamin Moore paints (for custom furniture as well) and really like their products, I used Ralph Lauren Plateau for this job.

We regularly provide furniture for film and television sets, but every time is just as exciting for me to see one of my little babies make the big screen. Our Gatsby Chandelier graced Tom Cruise's living room in Mission Impossible II, our Tulip Table served as a restaurant center table in Spiderman II, and our St. Denis Chair made recurring appearances as Brook Shields office chair in Nip/Tuck.

Our entire staff has been anxiously awaiting for Curb's new season to start because it's one of our favorite shows and we've been looking forward to see where our custom items eventually ended up on Larry's set. I'm still waiting to get a better look at Larry David's living room (where I believe most of the items have been placed), but I did manage to spot our Gatsby Swivel Chairs in this trailer.
The Gatsby is one of my favorite lounge chairs in our line because it really takes on different personalities with every fabric selection.

As a furniture designer and ASID Industry Partner, I have the pleasure of working with many visionary and talented interior designers and set designers who may specify our line of home furnishings for their projects. November's issue of House Beautiful features a wonderful project by designer Markham Roberts for his client's Long Island residence.
For a charming bay window sitting area, Markham specified our off-white Dragon Medallion Foot Stools as end tables. I love the placement of them, and I love what Mark did with the entire project.
Thanks to Catherine in OC for the heads up on the article.
